Once again, La Vinyeta and the designer Lluís Serra are represented in the prestigious Laus awards of graphic design. The wine Llavors won a Gold Laus Award two years ago in the category of packaging, and this year La Vinyeta’s eggs —called Outòcton— has been selected in two categories, logo and naming. The jury’s final verdict will be announced in June during the awards ceremony, Night Laus.
Otherwise, Outòcton also had their representation in Innofòrum Awards, where it was exhibited in the showcases during this Fòrum Gastronòmic de Girona
On the past edition of the Laus 09 award Lluís Serra Pla and La Vinyeta got the prestigious award Golden Laus for the labelling of the Llavors wine, on the category of ‘Packaging and Labelling Design’. This award boosts the image of the winery. Since then, we can find many different articles that refers to our wines in some magazines and graphic design books as the French publication Étapes, magazines as On Diseño and Chois Gallery, books as Wine plus and Pack pack or The die line website.
On October 1st 2010 the new edition of the wine guide “Guía Peñín” was launched. On this occasion the red wine Heus Negre 09 got the punctuation of 91 that it establishes as one of the best Spanish wines in quality and price.
Heus Negre 09 has a coupage of red Grenache (50 years old vineyards), Syrah and Carignan. It has cherry coloured with violet tones with high flavour intensity combining sensations of ripe fruit with lactic notes. Meaty in mouth, well-integrated tannins and middle persistence with good final acidity.
On the first fair Arrels del Vi (Roots of the Wine) the Llavors wine was chosen for the public as the best red wine. On the second edition, the Punt i apart wine was awarded on a blind tasting for prestigious sommeliers as the best red wine of the fair. La Vinyeta is proud for been awarded again in this new edition, with Sols sweet wine, chosen second best sweet wine.
This third edition of the fair Arrels de vi took place on May 22nd and 23rd in Sant Martí d’Empúries. Opening times were from 12.00 to 15.00 and from 17.00 to 21.30h—, the cost was 15€, including a Riedel glass, tasting of the best wines of the Designation of Origin Empordà and a guided visit to the Ruïnas d’Empúries. And as a guest, the Treloar winery from the Nord Catalonian region, a winery situated in Trouillas and leaded for a couple of La Vinyeta’s friends, Jonathan and Rachel.
Our wine Punt i apart has been chosen as the official wine of the centenary of Costa Brava, among the best wines of Emporda. In the Fòrum Gastronòmic de Girona, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board presented last Tuesday the wines of the centenary of the Costa Brava. The presentation has gone by the sommelier Roger Viusà —Sommeliers European champion 2008—.
A group of accredited sommeliers —like Josep Roca of El Celler de Can Roca—have chosen wines that will be wearing an identifying label with the name ‘Centennial Wine’. Our wine Punt i apart has been chosen as the best vintage black, Blanc Floresta as a young white and Grenache Gran Reserva of Celler Coperatiu d’Espolla as a sweet wine.
